Rachael Oldfield’s Lie

If you have read our previous posts regarding the lies told by some of the members of the group, you have probably already come across Rachael Oldfield’s lie in the timelines.

As we found in our research only Jane Tanner, Russell O’Brien and Rachael Oldfield said that Russell O’Brien left with Matthew Oldfield at 9:30pm, and this we believe has been proven to be a lie.

Even though eventually all the group, except for Gerry and Kate McCann, Rachael Oldfield was one of the first people to add this lie in to her first statement at 7:20pm on the 4th May 2007.
We believe that due to the group being able to discuss their timelines with each other in between the interviews, Rachael Oldfield was told to lie in her first statement. This confirmed what Jane Tanner had said in hers and it would also back up Russell O’Brien with what he would be saying in his.

Without Rachael Oldfield lying in her first statement, the discrepancy would have been between Russell O’brien’s and Jane Tanner’s version of events and the rest of the groups.




By Rachael Oldfield lying, it added emphasis to Jane Tanners lie and Russell O’Briens lie.

OUR CONCLUSION FROM MY FINDINGS IS THAT RACHAEL OLDFIELD LIED DURING HER FIRST INTERVIEW REGARDING RUSSELL O’BRIEN LEAVING THE RESTAURANT WITH MATTHEW OLDFIELD AT 9:30PM.
